Is the automotive metaphoric equivalent of put a bird on it. I am kind of pleased how it's coming along. Will finish the hatch and driver's side tonight, as daylight allows.
It was either leave the brown and paint the trim something or leave the trim as is and replace the brown.

Wow talk about flash back. My folks had a 1979 impala station wagon. Besides the color it was an exact match. Think there's was silver

I have a suggestion. How about a little black snake skin texture instead of that satin black or brown.

Paint the rest of the brown black, then apply actual wood veneer everywhere else. It'd be like an inverted woody.
That didn't sound as gross when I thought it.
